Transportation Network Coverage Information for Drivers
A guide to what a driver needs to know about driving for Zoom Ride.
What you need when you drive with _____Zoom Ride_________.
Zoom Ride drivers are required to have a personal auto insurance policy that meets minimum state requirements.
Our insurance advisors recommend drivers maintain limits of at least $100,000 per per person, $300,000 per accident, $100,000 property damage.
What Zoom Ride Covers:
There are three distinct periods that determine your insurance coverage while driving for a rideshare app. Coverage is provided in accordance with state laws for these three periods.
Period 1 – While App is on and you are waiting for a ride request. Zoom Ride provides third-party liability insurance for covered accidents if your personal insurance does not apply.
- $150,000 Combined Single Limit of Liability
Period 2 – While app is on and you are on your way to pick up a passenger.
Zoom Ride provides third-party liability insurance for covered accidents.
- $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit of Auto Liability
- $1,000,000 Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist
- Most personal insurance companies will exclude coverage while you are working on a rideshare application. No rider is available on your personal insurance to cover this liability.
Period 3 – While app is on and you have a passenger in the vehicle.
No rider is available on your personal insurance to cover this liability
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Most personal insurance companies will exclude coverage for damage to your vehicle while you are working on a rideshare application in Period 2 or Period 3, UNLESS you purchase a rider which is very often available. We recommend our drivers purchase the rider for physical damage from their personal auto insurance company of choice.
- Currently Excess / Contingent Comprehensive & Collision up to actual cash value of the car ($2,500 Deductible) is NOT INCLUDED IN ZOOM RIDE PROGRAM
Excess / Contingent Physical Damage is protection if the Personal Auto policy does not pay a physical damage claim. This is not primary coverage.
